On the banks of Plum Creek

Sadly, I do not own the third book of the series called Farmer Boy. I do although have the next book in the series, On the Banks of Plum Creek, which tells all about living in Plum Creek, Minnesota.

Description

At first, the Ingalls lived in a sod house in Minnesota. The Pa built a clean new house beside Plum Creek, buying the materials for it on credit, intending de pay for them with the fall wheat harvest. But just before the harvest, a strange glittering cloud suddenly blocked out the sun. Plunk! Something dropped on Laura's head, and fell to the ground. It was the biggest grasshopper she had ever seen. Millions of them descended over the country-side, and then there was no crop.

They traveled all the way from Wisconsin to Oklahoma, and there Pa built the little house on the prairie. Little house in the big woods

This is an old book made for young readers. How about a fun book with a lot of culture and adventure all in one? With more than one story in the series, it all revolves around one little family called the Ingalls.

Description

Wolves and panthers and bears roamed the deep Wisconsin woods in the 1860's. But Pa Ingalls preferred to live miles from his nearest neighbours. Pa built a snug log cabin for Ma and his three daughters, Mary and Laura and Baby Carrie. He hunted and trapped and farmed. Ma knew how to make her own cheese and sugar. At night the wind moaned lonesomely, but Pa played his fiddle and sang to his little girls.

From Anna

This is a very special story about a girl trying to find her way trough the world with only her father's support. It's a very touching and honest story that deserves to be read.

Description

Anna Solden, with her wispy braids and prickly personality, is nothing like her tall, likeable sisters and brothers. She's always the odd one out. Everyone but Papa seems to expect so little of her -even Mama- she comes to believe it herself. What could she, Anna, possibly have to give?
